rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tint: Old vs New vs ZERO

The same rom&nd shade name carries a different number in the Original, The Juicy and ZERO. Here is how to tell them apart and which to buy.

The Juicy Lasting Tint bottles with clear outer shells in the renewed rom&nd range

There are three rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tints on the market, and the same shade name can carry a different number in each. Check the box for “THE,” the size (5.5 g or 3.5 g) and a “Z” in the shade number before you buy.

This guide shows how to tell the old Original, the renewed The Juicy and ZERO apart, how Bare Grape, Nucadamia, Fig Fig and Jujube are numbered in each, and what Korean reviewers say about The Juicy.

The short answer

Best for: a first-time buyer → The Juicy
Start with The Juicy if you are choosing your first shade. Its broader range gives you more options than ZERO’s six, including shades such as No. 27 Honey Dew Melon.
Best for: replacing a pre-renewal 5.5 g tube → the Original
If your old tube says “JUICY LASTING TINT” without “THE,” match the old number (Bare Grape is 25) and the 5.5 g size. A Korean listing may mark it “[리뉴얼 전]” (before renewal). If your tube says “THE” and 3.5 g, use the renewed numbering instead.
Consider ZERO → only if your shade is one of six
ZERO comes in Z02, Z03, Z04, Z05, Z06 and Z23. Consider it when one of those shades suits you and you want the softer, moisture-focused texture described by the brand.
Not for: buying by number alone
No. 23 is Nucadamia in the Original but Peach Peach Me in The Juicy. Match the shade name and the version together.
Do not choose ZERO on the name alone
The name does not guarantee lip comfort or the absence of a particular ingredient. Read the list for your shade.

Three versions at a glance

All three are liquid tints from rom&nd. They share a product name, so a shop page can be hard to read. Size and shade numbering are the clearest clues.

VersionSizeBare Grape is…What to know
Original
“Juicy Lasting Tint”
5.5 gNo. 25Opaque, solid-color bottle and old numbering. The global official store still has an Original listing; Korean sellers may mark it “[리뉴얼 전]” (before renewal).
The Juicy
“THE Juicy Lasting Tint”
3.5 gNo. 03Clear outer shell. Renewed line sold in Korea from around November 2024. Main line today.
ZERO
“The Juicy Lasting Tint ZERO”
3.5 gNo. Z03Six shades, all with a Z number. Same clear shell as The Juicy; the label ends in ZERO. The brand positions it around moisture.

Mini and Zero Velvet are different questions. Mini is a smaller format within The Juicy family and is outside this full-size comparison. Zero Velvet Tint and Zero Matte Lipstick are separate product lines, not ZERO versions of Juicy Lasting Tint.

Same shade name, different number

rom&nd renumbered the shades when the renewed The Juicy line was introduced. ZERO then added a third set of numbers that begin with Z. Use this table to translate between them.

Shade nameOriginal (5.5 g)The Juicy (3.5 g)ZERO (3.5 g)
Bare Grape2503Z03
Nucadamia2302Z02
Fig Fig0604Z04
Jujube0705Z05

The numbers collide, which is the real trap. “06” is Fig Fig in the Original but Peeling Angdoo in The Juicy. “07” is Jujube in the Original but Cherry Bomb in The Juicy. “23” is Nucadamia in the Original but Peach Peach Me in The Juicy.

Global shops sell both versions under similar titles, so Bare Grape can appear as 25 on one listing and 03 on another. If you see a number you do not recognize, search by shade name and then check the size.

A same-name shade is not a promise of the same look. Some reviewers who compared an old tint with the renewed one described the color as different (see the renewal note below).

How to spot your version

  1. Read the label for “THE.” The Original says “JUICY LASTING TINT.” The renewed line says “THE JUICY LASTING TINT.”
  2. Find the size. 5.5 g is the Original. 3.5 g is The Juicy or ZERO.
  3. Look for a “Z” or the word ZERO on the label or in the shop title. Z02, Z03, Z04, Z05, Z06 and Z23 are ZERO shades. Korean shop titles say “제로” (jeh-roh).
  4. Watch for “[리뉴얼 전].” It means “before renewal,” so an Original.

ZERO uses the same clear-shell shape as The Juicy, but its label reads “THE JUICY LASTING TINT ZERO.” Shop photos may hide the small label, so online, read the product title and the Z-prefixed shade option too.

What Korean reviews say about The Juicy

The Juicy No. 03 Bare Grape, official lip swatches.

These examples concern The Juicy, not a head-to-head test of all three versions. Color is a frequent strength in the reviews examined, while staining, comfort and packaging produce more varied experiences.

Color shows up, and it may stay

A reviewer of No. 07 Cherry Bomb on Musinsa (September 16, 2026) liked the color but said it left a stain and looked slightly different from expected. A reviewer of No. 21 Grape Bomb (September 17, 2026, 3 stars) called the pigment strong and noted staining. Another, on No. 28, said it left no stain but did not last. One reviewer with naturally dark lips called No. 42 sheer.

Buying implication: the Cherry Bomb and Grape Bomb reviewers mentioned staining, while a No. 28 reviewer did not. If you dislike leftover color, a shade’s staining behavior matters as much as its fresh swatch. Check stain photos for the exact shade you want rather than treating all The Juicy shades as equally lasting.

Moist feel and comfort are not the same

A reviewer of No. 28 (September 11, 2026) liked the color, mentioned some dryness and suggested pairing it with lip balm in cold wind. A Hwahae reviewer gave No. 03 Bare Grape 3 stars: good color, but the “yogurt effect” (white clumping) and packaging problems. Another Hwahae reviewer of No. 03 praised the moist feel and also reported lip irritation.

Buying implication: choose this for tint and shine, not as a lip-care treatment. A moist feeling does not establish that a product will suit sensitive lips. If a tint irritates your lips, stop using it. The Korean ZERO product label advises stopping use and consulting a dermatologist for redness, swelling, itching or irritation.

Renewal changed the feel for some

A Musinsa reviewer of the renewed No. 09 Mulled Peach (February 17, 2025, 2 stars) said it looked cooler than before and held less product, which matches the change from 5.5 g to 3.5 g. A global reviewer of No. 23 Peach Peach Me, a shade added with the renewal, described a redder-than-expected color, a thinner formula and less drying than the old formula. That is a comparison with the old formula, not a same-shade before-and-after test.

Buying implication: the same shade name does not guarantee an exact match to an old tube. For a faithful repurchase, first identify which version you already own; for The Juicy, compare swatches from that version.

Caps and cases

One reviewer said the cap of No. 10 Bare Apricot spun without opening (March 2025). Another said that after a drop, the cap and body of No. 27 turned together (September 2025). Set editions use different cases from the single tint.

Buying implication: inspect the cap and opening mechanism when the tube arrives. The selected complaint cases flag something to check, not a failure rate for the entire line.

What ZERO changes

ZERO has the same clear shell; its label adds “ZERO.”

ZERO is a separate 3.5 g option with six shades: Z02 Nucadamia, Z03 Bare Grape, Z04 Fig Fig, Z05 Jujube, Z06 Peeling Angdoo and Z23 Peach Peach Me. It makes sense to consider it if your preferred shade is in that short list and you want the softer texture described on the brand’s product page.

In its August 14, 2025 development notice, rom&nd described investigating reports of stinging or burning with tints. It tested samples that removed volatile ingredients, replaced preservative ingredients, or combined both changes. The current product page describes a soft, lotion-like texture with added moisture. The reviews in this guide concern The Juicy, so they do not establish how the finished ZERO product feels by comparison.

Check the ingredient list for your shade. On rom&nd’s Korean ZERO page, all six shade lists name phenoxyethanol and fragrance. Only the Z02 Nucadamia list also names Alcohol Denat. If you avoid an ingredient, read the list for your exact shade and the box label before ordering.

Which one to buy

You want a shade you can easily find → The Juicy

It has the most shades and the current numbering. Pick by name and number from the same shop page.

You are replacing a pre-renewal 5.5 g tube → look for the Original

Match the old number, the 5.5 g size and the opaque bottle. The global official store still lists the Original. Read the selected shade and product details rather than assuming every page titled “Juicy Lasting Tint” is the older version.

Your shade is among the six, and you like a moisture-focused version → ZERO

Choose it for the shade and the brand’s softer, moister positioning.

Before you reorder

  • Is “THE” on the label, or is it the old “JUICY LASTING TINT”?
  • Is it 5.5 g or 3.5 g?
  • Does the number start with Z?
  • Does the shade name match the one you used before, not just the number?
  • Is it a set or collaboration edition with a different case?
  • Is the seller’s title Juicy Lasting Tint, and not Zero Velvet Tint or Zero Matte Lipstick?
  • If you avoid certain ingredients, have you read the list for your exact shade?
