3CE Blur Water Tint is a good buy if you want a thin, watery tint that sets fast into a soft, non-shiny finish, and you are happy to build color in light layers. Skip it if you want gloss, or if you want one thick swipe and done.
This guide is about 3CE’s Blur Water Tint (4.6 g). It covers how it finishes, why a lip base helped one Korean reviewer and hurt another, and how shade names can look different on your lips than on your wrist. It draws on three published Korean reviews and two English-language reviews; it is not a hands-on test.
The short answer
- You want a soft, matte, blurred look → good fit
- The official page describes a water gel that turns into a soft matte finish. Reviewers said it felt watery on the first swipe, then set dry and smooth.
- You want shine → not this tint alone
- The official finish is soft matte. One reviewer added a separate lip plumper when they wanted shine.
- You want one heavy coat and done → risky
- It sets fast. One reviewer saw it clump over a lip base; another warned that adding too much at once while layering can make it shift.
- You plan to use a lip base → test it first
- One reviewer used a base to tone down their natural lip color and liked the result. Another found the tint clumped on a base. A base is not a reliable shortcut to an even finish with this tint.
- You are picking a shade online → look beyond wrist swatches
- One reviewer’s wrist swatches looked warmer than the same shades on their lips.
What it is

The official 3CE page lists 3CE Blur Water Tint, 4.6 g, at ₩19,000 (checked October 1, 2026). It calls the texture a water gel that feels watery at first, then sets into a soft matte finish. The brand also says it is non-sticky and stays put all day. Those are brand claims. The reviews below did not test all-day wear.
A 2021 English-language blogger found that the slim tip picked up too little of some shades, so they re-dipped a couple of times. That is a useful distinction if you prefer a larger applicator that loads more color at once.
Korean searches for this name also return a different 3CE product, the Velvet Lip Tint. Make sure the product name says Blur Water Tint.
Lip base: two opposite results
Laydown over a base (2023)
This reviewer has darker pigment around the lip edge. They pressed down their natural lip color with a base first, because that let the shade show. On the back of the hand it looked pale because the gel was so wet. On the lips it clung lightly. They saw no flakes showing through, said little came off, and liked the dry, non-glossy finish. They did not give hours of wear.
Laydown, Casual Affair and Sepia (2021)
This reviewer bought all three at launch and regretted it. The tint felt watery at first, then set very quickly. It clumped right away over their lip base, and their lips felt dry. They did like that little transferred and that the color stayed strongly. They did not name the base or say how much they used.
What this means for you: a base helped one reviewer mute their natural lip color so the shade showed, but the tint clumped over a base for another. Neither identified the base product, so the cause is unclear. If you always wear a lip base, test the combination before relying on it for a day out.
Amount, layering and shade

The Warmth and Night Talk reviewer tried those shades when they were new in March 2023. On Warmth, they put on one thin coat, then added more on top. The first coat had set and felt dry and smooth; the new coat felt moist. They warned that adding too much at once while layering can make the tint shift. They admitted using a lot so the color would show in photos, and said the color built up with each layer. Their own preference was one thin coat of Warmth.

The same reviewer felt Night Talk spread more easily than Warmth, and said spreadability can vary between shades of one line. If a shade feels harder to spread, start with a little and add a thin layer rather than one heavy coat.
Shade notes from reviewers
| Shade | Official description | What reviewers reported |
|---|---|---|
| Laydown | Toned-down pink brown | One reviewer saw a muted pink-brown nude peach and called it a warm-tone pick. Another saw a muted rose with a grey tint that looked slightly purple on their lips and classified it as “summer muted” in Korean personal-color terms. The two reviewers placed it differently on the warm-cool scale. |
| Casual Affair | Calm, dry rose | Looked like a warm rose on the wrist, but cool on the lips of the 2021 reviewer. |
| Sepia | Daily, warm brick red | The 2021 reviewer expected a warm shade from the official text, but saw a burgundy-leaning brick red that looked very cool on their lips. |
| Warmth | Sunlit beige | Seen as an easy beige to wear alone or under other lip colors. Looked best to that reviewer as one thin coat. |
| Night Talk | Neutral mauve | First looked slightly cool to the reviewer, who then judged it a neutral mauve that warm-toned wearers could try. Spread more easily than Warmth for that reviewer. |
A reviewer’s “warm” or “cool” label came from their own lips and their own eyes. The Laydown row shows how far two of them differ. Do not choose by personal-color type alone. Use the official shade description as a starting point, expect the wrist swatch to be a rough guide, and compare on your lips if you can.
Meals, drinks and staining
All three Korean reviews described color that stayed after the tint set. The 2021 Korean reviewer of Laydown, Casual Affair and Sepia liked the strong stain. The Warmth and Night Talk reviewer (March 2023) said it did not come off easily after fixing, but described no food, drink or removal test. None of the three Korean reviews gave hours of wear.
Two English-language reviews add a little on meals. A 2021 blogger said it faded noticeably after drinking water over a few hours, and needed a waterproof remover to clean off. A 2025 Lemon8 reviewer, who bought the tints on sale, described buildable color and suggested adding another layer if two swipes were not enough. After a meal, a stain remained but was not vivid. So plan on touch-ups after eating. Do not expect it to stay at full strength for a whole day on this evidence.
For dry-feeling lips, this is not a comfort-first recommendation: the 2021 Korean reviewer of Laydown, Casual Affair and Sepia reported dryness, while the 2025 Lemon8 reviewer found it non-drying. The reviews do not establish how it wears on already chapped or flaky lips. The 2021 English-language blogger said it did not transfer onto their face mask once dry.
Who should buy it
| Your priority | What the reviews show |
|---|---|
| Soft matte, blurred finish | Good fit. Reviewers described it setting dry and smooth after a watery first swipe. |
| Control over color strength | Good fit. Color built up for the Warmth and Night Talk reviewer; the Lemon8 reviewer also described buildable color. |
| Gloss or cushiony shine | Skip or add a gloss. The official finish is soft matte. |
| One thick coat, no fuss | Weak point. One reviewer reported clumping over a lip base; another warned that too much product while layering could shift. |
| Always wears a lip base | Test first. One reviewer liked it over a base, another saw clumping. |
| No touch-ups after meals | Poor fit for that priority. The English-language reviews describe fading after drinking and only a light stain after a meal. |
Where to buy
The official 3CE page identifies the product and shade names and has a “Buy Now” retailer chooser. On October 1, 2026, its Korea options included the 3CE Naver brand store and Olive Young Korea. Its global option linked to Olive Young Global’s Blur Water Tint listing.
For U.S. readers: that Olive Young Global page displayed a notice excluding delivery to the 50 U.S. states and D.C. at our check. Do not treat the global link as a U.S. delivery option; this guide has not confirmed an alternative U.S. retailer for this exact product. Elsewhere, compare the exact shade, single-tube versus set option, and destination before ordering; the brand’s selector does not guarantee stock or delivery.
