Peripera Ink Velvet Review: 4 Shades from Korean Reviews

Choose Ink Velvet for vivid color blended into a soft matte edge. Four detailed Korean reviews show how shades 08, 16, 24 and 39 differ in application, remaining stain and touch-ups.

Peripera Ink Velvet is a good buy if you want a bold color with a soft, blurred matte edge and you are happy to build it in thin layers. It is a weak first pick if you want gloss, help hiding flaky lips, or a finish that stays even without touch-ups.

The useful distinction is how you wear it: 08 and 16 worked best in small amounts blended from the center, while 39 exposed the trade-off between vivid color and tidy touch-ups. Shade 24 offers a quieter nude option. Here is what four detailed Korean reviews reveal about choosing a shade and getting the finish you want.

The short answer

You want vivid color and a soft matte edge → Buy
This is a velvet matte tint. In the 08 and 16 reviews, the strong color worked best spread thin or kept to the center.
You want gloss or a dewy look → Skip
This is a matte formula. For a glossy tint to compare, see our rom&nd Honey Dew Melon 27 review.
Your lips are dry or flaky → Not a first pick
The 39 reviewer warned that, depending on the state of the lips, flakes can stand out, color can collect at the lip line and the stain can look patchy. That is one person and one shade, but it is the clearest warning in the reviews.
You want a low-maintenance finish → Choose another formula
08 kept some color after a meal, but the 39 reviewer warned of uneven stain and a heavy feel when reapplied. Choose this for the color and blurred effect, not the promise of a freshly applied look all day.
You are buying shades 47 to 49 → Read separately
These new “Hazy” shades have a slightly runnier formula. None of these reviews cover them.

Which Ink Velvet is this?

Peripera sells several lip tints with similar names, and English search results mix them up. This guide covers Ink The Velvet (Korean: 잉크 더 벨벳). Olive Young Korea lists it at 4 g. It is not Airy Velvet, Mood Glowy or Mood Blur.

The four reviews cover shades in the classic formula. ClubClio’s global page names them 08 Sellout Red, 16 Heart Fuchsia Pink, 24 Milky Nude and 39 Sunny Orange. In Korea, the same shades carry different Korean names: 품절대란 (08), 하트백만개 (16), 누디라떼 (24) and 햇살주의보 (39). Match the number as well as the product line when comparing Korean and English listings.

Check the pack size before comparing prices: when we checked, ClubClio Korea sold Ink The Velvet as a two-tint set with a free mini remover, and its shade menu included 08, 16 and 39 but not 24. The gift may change if supplies run out. A set price is not the price of one 4 g bottle.

Four shades at a glance

ShadeWhat the review describedGood fitThink twice
08 Sellout Red품절대란Soft matte finish. The reviewer preferred a small amount blended from inside the lip over a full lip. Color partly wore off after a meal, but some remained. It stained the fingers.A bold red with a blurred edge.Fingers stain. The reviewer suggested a cotton swab or lip brush.
16 Heart Fuchsia Pink하트백만개Too intense alone for this reviewer. A small amount at the center of the lips, over another tint, worked well.A center-of-lip accent.Full-lip use if you want a softer look.
24 Milky Nude누디라떼Calm rose, brown and coral-beige. The look changed with amount, light, and wrist versus lips.A muted everyday nude.Judging it from a wrist swatch.
39 Sunny Orange햇살주의보Bright orange-coral, praised as a strong color. The reviewer warned that flakes, lip-line color and patchy stain can show up depending on the lips, and that re-applying can feel heavy.A vivid orange when color matters most.Flaky lips, or a plan to re-apply.

How much you apply changes the result

The 08 review is especially useful because the same person’s lips are photographed in four separate set-ups: full lip, a one-coat gradient, two coats, and after a meal. The reviewer liked the thin version best, with a small amount inside the lip blended outward. The reviewer also described the finish as soft when spread and matte once set.

The 16 review points the same way. Used alone, the color was too strong for this reviewer. A small amount on the center of the lips, over a different tint, gave a result they liked.

For 08 or 16, start with a small amount at the center, blend outward, and add more only where you want stronger color. It gives you more control than filling the whole lip on the first pass.

Strong stain is not the same as an even finish

When people say a tint “lasts,” they can mean four different things: it leaves color behind, it keeps its first matte look, it does not rub off, and it stays even. The reviews cover only some of these.

08: color stayed after eating

The reviewer photographed the lips after a meal and labeled the result as partly worn off, with pink color still visible. They counted the remaining color as a plus. The review does not say what was eaten or how much time passed, so it cannot be turned into “X hours” or “does not transfer.” The same strong stain also colored the reviewer’s fingers.

39: color stayed, but not neatly

The 39 reviewer found the first application smooth, but warned that depending on the state of the lips, color can gather at the lip line, flakes can stand out and the stain can look uneven. Adding more can make the lips feel heavy.

The practical trade-off is clear: color that remains and color that stays even are different results. The 08 reviewer valued the color left after a meal; the 39 reviewer warned that the stain could collect at the lip line and look patchy.

Choose Ink Velvet for a stain you can work with: it suits someone happy to check the finish after eating. If even fading and easy, fuss-free reapplication matter more than vivid pigment, it is not the strongest match.

If your lips are dry or flaky

Only the 39 review speaks to this, and it is the reason for the “not a first pick” advice above. The reviewer wrote that the velvet cream goes on softly but that flakes, lip-line color and blotchy stain can show up depending on the lips. The reviewer also said the amount needs careful control.

If hiding visible flakes is your main goal, this is not our first recommendation. For 39, use a light hand rather than building a thick second coat. The issue described is how the color sits on existing texture, not proof that the product causes dry lips.

Reading the nude shade (24 Milky Nude)

The 24 reviewer described a calm mix of rose, brown and coral-beige. Thicker areas looked deeper rose and brown, and thinly spread areas looked more like a nude coral-beige. Wrist and lip swatches, and different lighting, also changed how it read. The reviewer did not call it a fully cool color; warm beige and coral came through.

So a bottle photo tells you the shade, but not the lip result. Look for lip photos in light similar to yours and do not assume 24 suits every skin tone from one person’s review.

The new Hazy shades (47, 48, 49)

ClubClio’s Korean page lists three new shades as lighter partners of the originals: 47 pairs with 39, 48 with 16, and 49 with 08. The brand says their formula is slightly runnier than the original, for a softer smudged look. None of the four reviews here are about them. If you liked how 08 behaved, do not assume 49 will behave the same way.

Where to buy the right Ink Velvet

Match Ink The Velvet and the shade number before ordering. The classic shades reviewed here and the newer Hazy shades have different formulas.

  • English product information: ClubClio’s Ink The Velvet listing shows the English shade names, including 08, 16, 24 and 39. At our September 30 check, the storefront displayed a renewal notice directing shoppers to Amazon; follow the purchasing options shown by the brand.
  • Shopping in Korea: ClubClio Korea’s two-tint set lets you compare the available shade options. Its set price covers two tints, so compare the quantity as well as the price with a single bottle.

Before paying, check the selected shade, number of bottles and total cost including delivery to your country.
