Your tint has made it through the day, and now the last bit of color will not budge. The next step is a gentler method, not a harder wipe. Use a remover explicitly labeled for lips, and follow the directions for that exact bottle.
You do not need a Korean remover because your tint is Korean. A suitable product you already own may be all you need; the useful details are shaking, how wet the pad should be, any contact time and whether to rinse.

Read the lip-use directions before the brand name
“Face cleanser,” “eye remover” and “cleansing water” do not automatically mean the same thing. Look for an explicit statement about lips, then check the precise version. A standard remover, waterproof formula and regional release can have different directions.
For example, ETUDE Lip & Eye Remover 100ML is described as a water-and-oil-layer product: shake it, wet a cotton pad and wipe gently. ETUDE PPOYAN is a separately named remover. Keep those names distinct when looking up instructions.
Give the remover a chance to work
- Read the method. Confirm lip use, shaking, contact time and rinsing. Keep the liquid outside your mouth and follow the warnings.
- Prepare a fresh pad. Use the amount directed. A barely damp pad is different from one the label asks you to saturate.

- Follow the contact step. If the label says to press briefly, do that before wiping. If it simply says to wipe gently, do not borrow another remover’s timing.
- Wipe with light pressure. Move to a clean part of the pad so you are not spreading removed color back over your lips.
- Finish as directed. Rinse when instructed. A no-rinse direction belongs to the product that gives it.

Four labels, four slightly different methods
The official directions checked October 5, 2026 show why one universal “hold for ten seconds” rule would be unhelpful:
- ETUDE Lip & Eye Remover 100ML: shake, wet a pad and gently wipe. The retrieved directions did not specify a fixed lip-contact time.
- INNISFREE Apple Seed Lip & Eye Makeup Remover: the Malaysia listing says to shake, saturate a pad, hold against the lips for a few seconds, then sweep clean.
- Clinique Take The Day Off liquid remover for lids, lashes and lips: shake and saturate. Its long-wearing lipstick method specifies a ten-second hold before wiping, followed by a cool-water rinse before reapplying makeup.
- Garnier SkinActive All-in-1 Waterproof Micellar Cleansing Water: shake, saturate and gently wipe the lips. This specific version is no-rinse; its timed eye instructions are separate from its lip directions.
If you prefer micellar water, the Garnier example shows that a lip-labeled waterproof version is an option. The words “micellar water” alone do not tell you how every formula should be used.

Still pink? Check the method before repeating it
A remaining color could be residual makeup, a stain or your natural lip color. It is not a useful target to chase with increasingly forceful rubbing.
If you missed a step, such as shaking or fully wetting the pad when directed, correct it gently. More pressure is not the fix.

For your next tint, read removal descriptions alongside wear descriptions. A photo showing color after a tissue wipe is different from an account naming a remover and describing how it was used. Our tint, stain and gloss guide explains the difference between shine and remaining color.
Leave the scrubbing out of the routine
Use a cosmetic intended for the area, not household solvents or cleaning products. There is no need to add a lip scrub to the liquid-remover methods above, or to automatically double-cleanse your lips because you used a long-wearing tint.
If irritation develops, stop using the product. INNISFREE’s published precautions advise discontinuing use and consulting a doctor if irritation occurs. A comfortable finish matters more than making your lips look completely blank.
