Peripera Ink Velvet vs Ink Mood Glowy Tint: Matte or Glossy?

Choose between Ink Velvet’s blurred matte color and the older Ink Mood Glowy’s shine, with real lip photos and shade-specific Korean review examples.

Choose Peripera Ink Velvet for a matte lip with a soft edge, or the older Ink Mood Glowy Tint for a sheer wash with shine. Velvet’s brighter shades reward a small, carefully blended amount. Older Glowy is more appealing if you enjoy refreshing a light glossy color during the day.

Two 4 g tints, two different looks

Both products are Peripera tints in a 4 g size, but they create different finishes. Ink The Velvet is the matte option; Ink Mood Glowy Tint is the glossy one. Airy Velvet and Mood Blur are separate lines.

The word “older” matters here. Peripera renewed Ink Mood Glowy as Mood Glowy Tint, with a different listed manufacturer and renumbered shades. For example, older #21 is Cooling Pink, while renewed #21 is Young And Peach.

The Velvet examples are classic shades 08, 16, 24 and 39. The newer Hazy shades 47–49 have a slightly runnier formula, so they need their own consideration too.

Match the finish to your everyday routine

That makes the practical choice quite personal. Would you rather spend a little more attention blending the first matte layer, or keep a glossy tint handy to refresh its shine? Those routines are more useful to picture than a single “best tint” label.

Matte blur or glossy wash?

For Velvet 08, the reviewer described softness while spreading the tint and a matte finish once it set. They preferred a little color on the inner lip blended outward, rather than a strong full-lip outline. The photo below shows that softened red.

Older Glowy #24 was worn alone on bare lips for a light, shiny finish. Its reviewer liked how easily the thin formula spread, although there was slight stickiness. If any tacky feeling bothers you, take that into account alongside the shine.

The photos show different shades on different people, so use them to picture the matte and glossy looks. They are not a guide to finding matching colors between the two lines.

Color strength and the stain left behind

Velvet 08 and 39 were described as strong colors, and 16 was too intense alone for its reviewer. They liked a small amount of 16 as a center accent over another tint. If you want a quieter matte lip, 24 Milky Nude brings coral-beige and brown instead.

Older Glowy’s light shades are more see-through. The #21 reviewer had naturally deep lip color and found the cool pink fainter on their lips than on the wrist. They preferred it over a lip base, so this is not the strongest choice if your aim is to cover your natural color in one easy step.

For wear, Velvet 08 has the more encouraging example: some pink remained after a meal, even though part of the original application had worn away. Older Glowy #24 showed weak wear at four hours. Its eight-hour observation came after a touch-up following a meal, and the reviewer reported no stain left at that point.

That favors Velvet 08 if some leftover color is your priority, without giving either product a dependable wear-time promise. Other older Glowy shades left color in a separate palm test, so #24’s result should not become a rule for every shade.

Touch-ups can be the bigger difference

The Velvet 39 reviewer warned that flakes could stand out and the stain could become patchy or remain mainly along the lip line. Adding more could feel heavy. If that is a familiar frustration with your lip products, the color alone may not be enough to win you over.

Older Glowy #24 looked smooth when reapplied, according to its reviewer. Another reviewer had a smooth result with #04 after removing dead skin, while a short older #02 account described visible flakes. Choose the gloss because you like the finish, rather than expecting it to hide existing texture.

Which one would we choose?

For a soft matte red, we would start with Velvet 08 and use a small amount. For a light glossy wash that you expect to touch up, older Glowy #24 is the more relevant example. If deeper coverage is the goal, the faint #21 result is a reason to look elsewhere.

If you need a tint that leaves nothing on cups or masks, neither set of reviews settles that question. A stain remaining on lips tells you something about leftover color, not whether product transferred along the way.

Before you place an order

For Velvet, use the official Ink The Velvet listing and compare the bottle count if you are looking at a Korean set. For older Glowy, use the older Korean listing or Ink Mood Glowy on Olive Young Global, keeping the edition and shade name together.
