One more lip tint to unlock free shipping? Sometimes it helps; sometimes it just turns a small order into a bigger bill. Compare what you pay for your original basket with what you pay after adding the extra item. The bigger discount is not always the cheaper order.
Here’s a quick way to decide whether an OLIVE YOUNG offer is worth using, then how to check the storefront, dates and excluded products when a coupon won’t apply. Start with the products you already want, then decide whether the extra one earns its place.

Is the extra item worth adding?
Take two screenshots of checkout: one with your original list, then one with the extra item. Compare the final amount payable, including shipping and any checkout charges. Points you can spend next time are a separate perk.
Example 1: free shipping costs you $12 more
These are made-up prices to show the calculation, before tax. Assume the same $10 coupon applies to both baskets and adding a $20 item qualifies the larger basket for free shipping.
| Basket | Calculation | You pay |
|---|---|---|
| Keep your original list | $52 of items − $10 coupon + $8 shipping | $50 |
| Add the $20 item | $72 of items − $10 coupon + $0 shipping | $62 |
Our pick: keep the $50 basket if the extra item is a filler. If you wanted it anyway, it effectively costs $12 instead of $20 because shipping drops by $8. That is the decision to make—not whether the delivery line says “free.”

Example 2: a small extra really can lower the bill
Now imagine a different offer: $10 off $60 of eligible merchandise. Your planned products cost $52 and do not yet qualify. The figures below compare merchandise only; assume delivery charges stay the same and compare tax in checkout.
- Keep the original list: pay $52.
- Add an $8 eligible item: $60 − $10 = $50. You get the extra item and spend $2 less on merchandise.
- Add a $20 eligible item: $72 − $10 = $62. Your merchandise spend rises by $10.
The $8 addition is the useful one in this example. Replacing it with a pricier product changes the answer, even though you still unlock the same coupon.
Two quick percentage checks
- 20% off, capped at $10: an eligible $80 basket gets $10 off, not $16. That is 12.5% off the merchandise total.
- 20% off, then another 20% off: if the offer permits both discounts on the same item, $100 becomes $80, then $64. You save 36%, not 40%.
Find the right offer for your storefront
For US orders, begin with official Promotions and Deals. For Global, select your supported destination before using its Sale and Events pages. In Korea, check whether the offer applies online, in the app or at the branch.
Open the offer itself and read its dates and time zone. An old code in a search result or saved post can still look tempting after the promotion has finished.
Three Korean labels are especially useful when you are looking for conditions. The pronunciation below is approximate:
유의사항
yoo-ee-sah-hahng
Conditions or cautions
사용기간
sah-yong-gee-gahn
Use period
제외
jeh-weh
Excluded

Product discounts, cart coupons and points
A product coupon may apply to one item, one unit or a named set. A cart coupon uses a qualifying basket total, which may exclude tax, shipping and certain products. “Up to” a percentage means you still need the eligible products and any maximum discount.
Points and gifts deserve their own line in the comparison. Ask when points become usable and expire, or whether a gift has limited stock. Neither necessarily reduces today’s payment.
To see whether two offers work together, apply them to your basket and compare the total. An offer’s combination rule decides whether a product coupon and cart coupon can be used together; having both saved in your account does not settle that.

When a coupon fails, check these six things
- Storefront: Korea, Global or US; app, website or store?
- Timing: has it started or ended in the stated time zone?
- Account: are you eligible as a member, first-time buyer or named recipient?
- Product: does that shade, set or sale item qualify?
- Subtotal: is it high enough after the required deductions?
- Combination: is another applied offer preventing use?
If it still looks eligible, save the error and terms and contact that storefront’s support. Wait for an answer before paying with an expectation of a later discount.

Be careful about canceling just to change coupons
Before canceling an order to try another code, read the coupon’s reissue rule. The US online cancellation and return policy restores used coupons only if they are still valid when the refund is issued. An expired coupon will not come back.
